Joe Compel Reptiles

Joe Compel Reptiles has been long in the making. My interest in reptiles and amphibians began at a young age. I spent my summers stomping through the woods looking for frogs, turtles, lizards and snakes. Come to think of it, I still spend most of my summers stomping through the woods looking for frogs, turtles, lizards and snakes. Luckily, I have a job where I am able to continue enjoying my hobby. During most of the year, I teach eighth-grade science. I have a B.S. degree in Environmental Science. Taking courses in genetics and biology have given me a strong science background, which helps me in my career and also links back to my hobby…breeding ball pythons.

For the past twenty years, I have kept and bred many reptiles and amphibians. But, about six years ago, I decided to focus mainly on ball pythons because of the many color and pattern mutations…the possibilities are endless. I finally feel that it’s time to turn my hobby around into a business, which brings us back to Joe Compel Reptiles. I enjoy breeding ball pythons, and the last thing I want is a business that destroys that passion. Instead, I want my business to reflect me and what I believe in. I strive to produce high quality animals, enjoy the process, and still retain honesty and integrity when dealing with anyone who is interested in what I have to offer.
